Growing Fruitful Friendship
Friendship has special meaning for German Friend Ute Caspers because she never experienced the normal development of family relations due to World War two and It's aftermath. She writes of friendship that it, "could be a place of acceptance, where you don't have to pretend...an empowering experience, with a good balance of giving and taking, and a place where you are supported and held with your spiritual or emotional doubts and findings." over the course of her lecture, Caspers explores different types of friendship, provides metaphorical tools for better cultivating it and offers queries relating each of the testimonies to it. She concludes by considering the idea that one of the ways to bring about social change is by changing the way we relate to people, by cultivating better frienships in our neighborhoods and around the world.
