This Quaker institute for the Future (QIF) booklet assesses the record of GM crops and the role of public policy in their regulation. it places biotechnology within an ethical context of concern for equity, the environment, and the common good and presents a framework for understanding the varieties of biotechnologies and for gauging strategic action on public policy. This pamphlet will be helpful for understanding biotechnology issues and for guidance on engaging these issues at the level of public policy for the common good.
